As a multi-passionate business owner, Sharon Middendorf has always had an entrepreneurial spirit.

Hospitality

With success in modeling and music, Sharon set her sights on new business and creative endeavors and parlayed her entrepreneurial spirit into forming GO-Cottage, a Bungalow Vacation Rental property located in Lake Placid, NY. Over the course of nine weeks, Sharon transformed a run-down bungalow property into a relaxing, airy “home away from home” for small families, couples, athletes and vacationers alike.

Sharon believes that “small is the new big” and this design aesthetic has garnered the bungalows national attention in Country Living, Domino and HGTV’s Small Space, Big Style. She continues to drive the creative vision for GO-Cottage by handling everything from marketing and branding to management for the real estate venture.

 

Design

Should be open, clean, airy and fresh. I love to work with natural light and furniture that’s modern and bright.

Marketing

Google and social media are my best friends! Blogging is fun and I like to share tips there.

Creating a brand is easy if you keep it simple and direct.

You’re only as good as your team and communication is key!

Music

In the 1990’s Sharon started a number of bands. The most successful being alternative rock trio Motorbaby and signed to Mercury Records. During that time, Sharon worked with producers Rick Rubin, Tony Visconti, Ronnie Mancuso and musician Kathy Valentine; performed on the inaugural MTV Video Music Awards; appeared in The Beastie Boys and Cheap Trick videos; and started an independent record label, Ten Wings Music. A pioneer in digital and online music she wrote and released 5 albums, including “Rise” along with various singles available on iTunes, Amazon and CDBaby.

Modeling

From age eighteen, after being scouted by Elite Models founder John Casablancas, she single-handedly managed a successful modeling career, shooting with famed photographers Patrick Demarchelier, Albert Watson and Helmut Newton and landing on the pages of Glamour, Cosmopolitan, and the cover of Time Magazine among other top publications. Represented by the Bella Agency in NY and LA.
